Consulting for orgs that are stuck, scaling or slightly on fire

Practical advice, hands on support and an independent perspective for organisations with messy realities and ambitious plans.

Hot Mess Checklist

Woman inspecting post it notes on a wall to illustrate volume of ideas

If you can check off more than one of these, it’s probably time for a conversation.

  • The project’s drifting and no one can agree why

  • The strategy made perfect sense three months ago. Now nobody seems able to turn it into action

  • Growth has outpaced the way the business is set up to run

  • You’re trying to choose a platform, an agency or a direction and the debate is more political than productive

  • AI has suddenly become everyone’s top priority, despite nobody being entirely sure what problem it’s supposed to solve

  • Something isn’t working, but everyone has a different opinion about what the actual problem is

That’s usually when everyone realises they need someone in the room with absolutely no horse in the race.

Someone who’s not protecting a budget, defending yesterday’s decision or trying to win an argument. Someone whose only job is to work out what’s going on and fix it.

That’s us.

How We Help

  • Business Advisory: Sometimes you’re too close to the problem. Whether it’s a business challenge, major project or a strategic decision, we bring an experienced, independent perspective.

  • Transformation & Project Delivery: Because change is easy on a slide and much harder once humans get involved. Whether it’s a new system, a business improvement initiative or a complex program, we help businesses get from “we should” to “it’s done.”

  • Business Operations & Improvement: Growth doesn’t usually break a business. What comes with it does. We help organisations simplify operations, improve efficiency and remove the bottlenecks that slow them down.

  • AI Strategy & Adoption: Just because AI can do something, doesn’t mean it should. We help businesses identify where AI can genuinely improve productivity, customer experience and decision making.

  • Customer & Growth Strategy: More marketing isn’t always the answer. We help businesses understand what’s really driving growth and where to focus their time, effort and investment.

How We Work

We ask lots of awkward questions.

Because the obvious problem isn’t usually the real one.

We tell you what we think.

Because you’re paying for judgement, not agreement.

We help you fix it.

Not just admire it from a slide deck.

We don’t make it bigger than it is.

We chat scope. Then decide if you need a short diagnostic, a project or ongoing advice. Sometimes it’s just a conversation.

Turns out most organisations have remarkably similar problems, regardless of whether they’re selling electricity, fried chicken or building products.

Who you’ll be working with

Hi, I’m Julie.

I’ve hired consultants before. Which is why I’m not a very typical one.

I’ve spent two decades in and around organisations of every size, from Microsoft to SoundScouts, first running the functions, then fixing them. Which means I’ve been the client, the stakeholder and the person whose budget was on the line, not just the consultant with opinions about it.

You also get me on the actual work. Not a polished pitch, then a quiet handover to three graduates and a weekly status report. Revolutionary, I know.

The boring but important bit

  • 20+ years leading strategy, transformation, digital, operations and commercial growth

  • In house leadership at Autonomy, Vodafone, BUPA, Microsoft, ResMed and APA.

  • Consulting and advisory for St Vincent’s Health Australia, Craveable Brands, ResMed, ENGIE and SoundScouts.

  • I don’t just advise, I deliver. I’m just as comfortable in board conversations as I am buried in a project plan. Turns out that’s a pretty rare combination.
