Corporate 101: From Zero to Hero
Welcome to the big leagues, rookies.
You’re probably juggling excitement, nerves and a dash of existential dread… while trying hard not to look like a deer in headlights.
Normal.
Because, nobody really explains corporate life properly. They just hand you a laptop, invite you to seventeen meetings and hope you figure it out before embarrassing yourself in front of leadership.
Corporate 101 covers the workplace skills nobody formally teaches you, but everyone expects you to somehow already know. Like how to develop the kinds of behaviours that make people take you seriously, dodge career limiting mistakes, navigate office politics and stand out for reasons beyond just remembering Sharon’s coffee order.
The goal? Transform you from “What am I even doing?” to “I’ve got this”.
Four modules. One live Q&A. A ton of insider tips to turn you from clueless to badass.
Coming in 2026

Why you need this course:
So, you’re stepping into corporate land, armed with nothing but a shiny certificate and enough enthusiasm to power a small city.
Then suddenly, you’re knee deep in office politics, sitting through confusing meetings, trying to decipher what everyone is talking about (hello acronyms) and wondering whether“urgent” means “today” or “someone senior has only just remembered this exists.”
Before long, you’re second guessing everything. Overthinking emails. Rehearsing simple questions in your head before asking them. Wondering if everyone else secretly received instructions you somehow missed.
Fact is, the corporate world comes with a whole lot of unwritten rules and an alarming lack of helpful explanations.
That’s where this course comes in. Not just to help you survive your first corporate year, but to help you understand what’s actually going on around you.
So instead of feeling like you’ve wandered into the wrong building, you’ll learn what’s expected, what behaviours to avoid and how to show up like someone who knows what they’re doing even on the days you absolutely do not.
Basically: fewer avoidable mistakes, less panic and a significantly lower chance of becoming office folklore.
Corporate Culture - More than free coffee: Learn how office life actually works- meetings that should’ve been emails, political etiquette and the subtle workplace rules nobody explains until after you’ve broken them publicly.
Professionalism - Looking competent: Master deadlines, awkward conversations, feedback and the art of sounding calm and professional while internally buffering like unstable Wi-Fi.
What You’ll Learn
Leadership - Becoming someone people trust with things: Develop the kind of behaviours that make people trust your judgement, rely on you and think “They’ll handle this” instead of “this could escalate quickly”. Because leadership starts long before anyone gives you a fancy title.
Tools & Tech - Welcome to the stack: Marketing and digital jobs run on platforms, dashboards and acronyms everyone pretends to understand immediately. We’ll walk you through the core tools used to plan, launch, track and optimise work without needing a translator or having a mild panic attack.
Nearly 80% of employers believe graduates do not arrive in the workplace with the skills needed to be work ready.
Meet me, JB
(Otherwise known as Julie Byrne)
I’ve spent the last two decades in the marketing and digital trenches, from scrappy tech startups to global heavyweights like Autonomy, Vodafone, BUPA, Microsoft and ResMed.
I haven’t just talked the talk. I’ve lived the targets, survived death by back to back meetings and sat through more “quick chat?” invites than any human should reasonably be subjected to. (They’re never quick and rarely chats.)
I cut my teeth at Autonomy in the UK, jumping from Marketing Executive to European Marcomms Manager in eight months. Back in Australia, I landed a General Manager gig at Vodafone at 29, then went on to lead digital marketing at BUPA, step into a regional role at Microsoft running Microsoft Stores across APAC and then global with medtech giant ResMed, overseeing their digital ecosystem worldwide.
Since 2018, I’ve been doing my own thing, elbow-deep in coaching, consulting, strategy and transformation work for everyone from big corporates to fast moving small businesses including ENGIE, Craveable Brands and SoundScouts.
In other words, I’ve seen how this game works from just about every angle, including the parts that never make it onto the shiny careers pages. Which also means I’ve seen exactly where smart, capable people start to trip over the stuff nobody ever teaches you.
And after seeing that play out again and again, it became painfully obvious that practical training and real mentorship for new and mid-level managers is weirdly hard to find. There’s theory aplenty, but not much in the way of “here’s what to actually do on Tuesday.” And what does exist is often delivered with the charisma of a 2009 compliance module and bearing little relevance to real day to day life.
So that’s the gap I fill. No BS, hands on training and straightforward coaching from someone who’s been in the room, made the calls and can tell you exactly where capable people start to come off the rails.
